Studying when you have children has special problems and you need to address them before you apply, particularly if it involves moving from your home.
If you have a young child, find out about nursery facilities. Ring each of your possible choices and speak to the head of the nursery: ask about waiting lists, minimum age and how you book a place (and don't forget to budget for nursery costs). Many of our University descriptions outline the nursery arrangements; at some, the education department has a teaching nursery.
If your child or children are older, find out about local schools and how to get into them. Sort out accommodation possibilities early; halls of residence do not usually accept children but some universities and colleges have family accommodation.
